Tartan or plaid?
Tartan is the woven Scottish sett — a repeating band of colors crossing itself at right angles. Plaid is the broader term for any checked cloth of that family. On a Porsche both read the same way: a period-correct alternative to Pepita that adds color without leaving the factory design language.
Every sett is woven rather than printed, backed with scrim foam, and cut so the pattern stays square across the cushion and squab. The bolsters remain leather or Alcantara so the seat still wears like the original.
